Prof. Sandro C. Esteves

Prof. Sandro C. Esteves is one of the world's foremost experts in male infertility and clinical andrology. He is the Founder and Medical Director of ANDROFERT Andrology & Human Reproduction Clinic in Campinas, Brazil, and serves as Honorary Professor of Reproductive Medicine at Aarhus University, Denmark.

Prof. Esteves was Chair of the WHO Infertility Guidelines Development Group for Male Infertility — the gold-standard clinical guidelines used by reproductive specialists worldwide. He is a co-founder of the POSEIDON (Patient-Oriented Strategies Encompassing IndividualizeD Oocyte Number) group, a landmark international collaboration that redefined how clinicians stratify and manage poor ovarian response in IVF.

With over 400 peer-reviewed publications in journals including The Lancet, Nature, Human Reproduction Update, and Fertility & Sterility, Prof. Esteves holds an H-index of 78 and has been cited more than 20,000 times. He is ranked in the top 1% of reproductive medicine researchers globally by Elsevier/Stanford University.

He serves as Associate Editor of Human Reproduction and Andrology, and has been Principal Investigator on landmark studies in non-obstructive azoospermia, varicocele treatment, and sperm retrieval techniques. His work directly informs international clinical guidelines for the treatment of male factor infertility.
