Editorial Policy & Medical Review Standards
How we produce, review, and maintain the accuracy of fertility content on Fertlo — including our affiliate disclosures and corrections process.
Our Editorial Mission
Fertlo publishes medically accurate, evidence-based fertility content reviewed by board-certified reproductive endocrinologists. Our goal is to help patients make informed decisions about fertility care.
We believe that access to trustworthy fertility information should not depend on having an expensive specialist or a well-connected support network. Every article we publish is held to the same standard: factually accurate, clearly sourced, and reviewed by a qualified clinician before it reaches readers.
Content Standards
Every clinical article published on Fertlo must meet the following requirements before going live.
- All clinical articles are written by qualified healthcare professionals — registered nurses, or medical writers with clinical backgrounds.
- Every clinical article is medically reviewed by a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist or equivalent specialist before publication.
- We cite peer-reviewed sources, ASRM guidelines, CDC ART surveillance data, and WHO guidelines as primary references.
- Articles are reviewed and updated at least annually; the last review date is displayed on every article.
Our Medical Review Process
Clinical content on Fertlo goes through a four-stage review before publication.
Clinical author drafts article
A qualified healthcare professional — registered nurse, medical writer with clinical background, or fertility specialist — writes the initial draft with inline citations to primary sources.
Medical reviewer checks accuracy
A board-certified reproductive endocrinologist (or equivalent specialist) reviews all factual claims, evaluates citations, and verifies clinical accuracy against current guidelines.
Revisions and sign-off
Any identified inaccuracies or gaps are corrected by the author. The medical reviewer confirms the revised article before publication.
Published with full attribution
The article is published displaying the reviewer's name, credentials, institution, and the date of medical review — visible to all readers.
Medical Advisory Board
Meet our Medical Advisory Board — three international reproductive medicine specialists who review content in their areas of expertise. Our advisors practice across Brazil, Mexico, and Chile, bringing global clinical perspective to every article they review.

Transparency about commercial relationships is a core part of our editorial integrity. Below is a complete disclosure of how Fertlo generates revenue.
Makeamom.com
We receive compensation when visitors purchase home insemination kits through our affiliate links to Makeamom.com. This affiliate relationship does not influence our editorial content, clinic ratings, or directory rankings in any way. Affiliate links are identified with a “sponsored” or “affiliate” label.
Clinic Listings
Clinics cannot pay to be listed, removed, or ranked higher in our directory. Our clinic data comes from publicly available CDC ART Surveillance Reports and NPI Registry records. Listing is automatic and based solely on publicly reported data.
Pharmaceutical & Clinic Advertising
We do not accept payment from pharmaceutical companies or fertility clinics for editorial coverage. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled as “Sponsored” and separated from independent editorial content.
