Hysteroscopy

A minimally invasive procedure using a thin camera to view and treat the inside of the uterus.

During hysteroscopy, a slender scope (hysteroscope) is passed through the cervix into the uterine cavity. Diagnostic hysteroscopy can identify polyps, fibroids, adhesions, or uterine septum — structural abnormalities that impair implantation. Operative hysteroscopy uses small instruments passed through the scope to remove or correct these findings at the same time.

The procedure is usually done in an office or outpatient surgical setting with local anesthesia or light sedation. It is often recommended before IVF or after repeated implantation failure to ensure the uterine cavity is normal. Recovery is typically same-day with minimal downtime.
