Embryo Banking

Accumulating frozen embryos across multiple IVF cycles before attempting a transfer.

Embryo banking (also called embryo batching or freeze-all strategy) involves completing one or more egg retrievals, fertilizing the eggs, and cryopreserving all resulting embryos without doing a fresh transfer. This approach is common for patients with diminished ovarian reserve who want to collect enough embryos before starting transfers.

Banking also benefits patients who plan PGT-A testing (multiple retrievals increase the chance of finding at least one euploid embryo) or those whose uterine lining is not ideal at retrieval time. Embryos stored by vitrification remain viable for many years with no meaningful decline in success rates.
